Meranews, Ahmedabad: Surat’s Harmeet Desai, teaming with Soumyajit Ghosh, won silver in men’s doubles in the 2017 Challenge Polish Open table tennis tournament in Czestochowa, losing to the Hong Kong pair of Kwan Kit and Pak Nam.

The Indian duo began the final on a positive note, taking the first game 12-10, but they were unable to maintain the momentum as their opponents took the next three games to win 10-12, 11-6, 11-8, 11-9.In the semifinals, Desai and Ghosh defeated Germany’s Benedikt Duda and Steffen Mengel 11-9, 11-9, 4-11, 11-4, which followed their win over Pomas Konecny and Tomas Polansky of the Czech Republic in the previous round.
