Ahmedabad: Union Minister Purshottam Rupala had called in on senior politician Shankersinh Vaghela at his residence in Gandhinagar. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has dubbed this meeting as ‘Sampark Samarthan’ programme, where top BJP leaders are meeting prominent personalities across the country in regards to the completion of four years of the Narendra Modi government in the center.

But the reality is believed to be something very different. About 10 days ago, Bapu (as Shankersinh Vaghela is fondly called) had made a visit to Mumbai, which had created a flutter amongst BJP leaders. A former Congressman, who switched sides to BJP for several reasons, Vaghela and his men are not so happy with their stand in the party. Thus, when Vaghela visited Mumbai to meet NCP’s Sharad Pawar, BJP leaders got worried. This is why Rupala was sent to visit the senior politician from Gujarat.

It is believed that Rupala was sent to convince Vaghela to avoid taking any steps in haste and he must wait. While NCP’s Sharad Pawar is planning to create a third front to contest the 2019 General Elections, the BJP doesn’t wish to see Vaghela jump ship again to Pawar’s faction. Rupala is believed to have told Vaghela that soon all his issues will be solved by the party and he must not act in haste.
