MeraNews Network, Gandhinagar: On the occasion of International Day of World's Indigenous People (Vishwa Adivasi Divas), Dalit rights activist and Vadgam MLA Jignesh Mevani will be addressing rallies in PM Narendra Modi's constituency in Uttar Pradesh, Varanasi. He'll be speaking on the unemployment in the country and the alleged atrocities that were committed on residents of Chharanagar in Ahmedabad by the police during a raid.

On August 9 Monday, Mevani will be attending a Dalit conference organized by the Manavadhikar Jananigara Samiti at Kabir Math. He is later slated to attend a rally organized by a political party too.

Speaking to MeraNews, Mevani said that he'll be talking about the atrocities by police and administration on the poor and the underprivileged when the police came down on street hawkers and sellers. He'll also be raising the topic of the late-night police raids on residents of Chharanagar in Ahmedabad where innocent residents were beaten up by the cops.

Mevani added, "I challenge the PM to contest and win from Varanasi again." With the 2019 general elections inching closer, Mevani has begun actively participating in social and political events and functions across the country.
