Gandhinagar: More than 7,000 Vidhyut Sahayak’s employed with the state government is all set to see an increase in their fixed-pay salaries. The monthly salaries will see an increase ranging from Rs 2,500 to Rs 10,450.

During the Gujarat Legislative Assembly Elections, the Akhil Gujarat Vidhyut Sahayaks Union, which has electric workers employed at different places across the state, had come out in protest seeking a hike in their fixed salaries. Seven months after coming to power, the state government has now decided to increase the salaries of these workers. These Vidhyut Sahayaks, split into four cadres work at the different electricity offices of the government and electric companies.

The workers who will get this benefit include Electrical Assistants, Helpers, Junior Assistants, Plant Attendants (Grade-1) and Junior Engineers.
