MeraNews Network, Gandhinagar: The written examinations for the recruitment of Lok Rakshak Dal jawans in Gujarat Police, which was cancelled and postponed for next month, will now be held on January 6, 2019. The previous test had to be cancelled after the answer key to the questions that were supposed to be asked in the paper had got leaked on social media platforms on December 2, the day of the exam itself.

About nine lakh candidates who were to appear in the exams on December 2 were left dejected and agitated after the police recruitment board cancelled the exams at the last moment. Taking lessons from their previous failure, the Gujarat government will hold the upcoming exams under strict bandobast and take extra care in the security measures. The decision was taken in a high-level meeting of top officials involved in the management of these exams and the announcement of the new date was done by Vikas Sahay, the chief of police recruitment board.

Sahay further informed that fresh call letters will be issued to the candidates shortly and that they won’t be charged any money for the to and fro travelling in state transport buses.
