MeraNews Network, New Delhi: After taking over the Union Finance Ministry after undergoing treatment abroad for a kidney-related ailment, the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that the Indian economy has undergone a transformation ever since the NDA came to power in 2014, as borne out by the IMF (International Monetary Fund) report.“In the last 4 years, decisiveness has led to easier decision making and made the economy stand out amongst several other countries,” said Jaitley.

In a post on social media platform Facebook, Jaitley said, the last four years have seen a series of reforms, both legislative and otherwise, which have been carried out by the government. Jaitley said the system has been substantially cleaned up and made more transparent.

He further said,”A comparison of the IMF data released in 2014 and 2018 proved that high inflation, fiscal deficit and current account deficit, a standstill infrastructure, power sector and allocation of natural resources were some of the failures of the previous UPA government.”

The Finance Minister referred the IMF report to bring out the differences in the economy between January - February in 2014 and July - August 2018. Jaitley urged all to read the IMF reports of 2014 and 2018, the copy of which are now publically available and said any reasonable person will concur with what he has said.
