Mumbai: Assistant director turned producer Yogesh Kumar during a personal interview said he wants to make romantic films inspired by the golden era of Yash Chopra. Kumar who has assisted for films like Dabangg and Dabangg 2 said, "I would like to make films that remind people of films made by Yashji (Chopra). I am high inspired by their style of stories. Nowadays films are about lust and action where there was innocent romance in Yashji's films. We don't get to see that anymore, I would love to bring it back."
When asked if he has a script in mind, Yogesh said, "I am looking for the right script. I don't want to make a film for the sake of it. It has to be something that people love and enjoy watching. A lot of hard work and money goes into a film and when you don't feel confident in a script you don’t feel like working on it. I am working on a script and soon I will announce the project details."
Speaking about the ad film with Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and Indian Premier League team Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB), he said "I am very happy and excited to work with Royal Challengers. I am a Royal Challenger supporter this IPL season. I have been a big fan of Virat and to work with him and his team was like a dream come true."
The producer previously worked as assistant director on films like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, I Love New Year, Jai Ho, and Dabangg 2. He is currently working on IPL television commercials for brands like McDowell's No.1, Jam In, RCB team promos and several other music videos too.
