Gandhinagar: Four top leaders from the Gujarat Congress’ IT (Information Technology) Cell put in their papers without giving any reasons for their decision. Mahendrasinh Vaghela (Vice President, Gujarat Pradesh Congress IT Cell), Zuber Patel (Vice President, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee IT Cell), Majid Patel (General Secretary, Surat City Congress IT Cell) and Roshan Sheikh (General secretary, Gujarat Pradesh Congress IT Cell) resigned from their positions, which they announced via posts on their Facebook profiles.

Highly placed sources within the party have informed that the four weren’t happy with the changes in the leadership of the state Congress’ IT Cell and thus they put down their papers. In a subsequent development, head of the All India Congress Committee’s Social Media and Digital Communication head Divya Spandana sent out press release which announced the appointment of Hemang Raval as Gujarat’s state coordinator for social media as approved by party president Rahul Gandhi, in place of Rohan Gupta, who was stepping down from his post as state social media coordinator.

Sources further informed that the party was unhappy with the leadership in IT Cell of the state and thus these changes in the top rung would help workers in their socio-political activism.
