Meranews, Ahmedabad: More than 160 corporate entities and individuals participated in a health awareness and blood donation initiative organised by the Event Management Federation of Gujarat (EMF), held in association with the Indian Red Cross Society, in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

Free check-ups—covering a wide range from dental to optic, knees, neck, shoulder, spine, elbow, acupuncture, bone mineral density, diabetes, blood pressure, body-mass index and cardiac—were conducted at HL College, and more than 100 people were screened on various health parameters with the help of medical experts and representatives from Mission Health, CIMS Hospital, Dr Mona Patel’s Eye Clinic and joint surgeon Dr Ashvin Sardhara.

“The federation is planning to conduct blood donation programmes and health check-ups twice a year for the public at large. We also plan to carry out other social activities for the welfare of citizens,” said Jaydeep Mehta, president of EMF.

The maiden blood donation drive by EMF brought together its members and families for a noble cause, pledging to build a better tomorrow by actively pursuing a healthier lifestyle, as well as continually doing their bit for the cause of blood donation for the needy.
