MeraNews Network, Gandhinagar: To protest against the rising fuel prices in the country, opposition MLAs of the Gujarat Assembly on Wednesday took out a cycle rally to reach the Vidhan Sabha in Gandhinagar to attend the second and final day of the Monsoon Session.

Led by Gujarat Pradesh Congress president Amit Chavda and Leader of Opposition Paresh Dhanani, almost all the MLAs in the opposition rode bicycles to the Assembly with placards and banners displaying slogans against the BJP government in the center and state.

OBC leader and Congress MLA Alpesh Thakor too participated in the rally. The group started off from the MLA residences in Sector 21 to the gates of Vidhan Sabha in Sector 10. The police didn't stop or try to detain the rally from progressing as there were scuffles on Tuesday between the MLAs and cops when they had begun sloganeering outside the Assembly after the session.

Gadhada MLA Pravin Maru led the sloganeering in the rally today, raising slogans like 'Haay Re Modi Haay'.

The session began at 9:30 AM and there is a possibility of the no-confidence motion taken into the debate, which was moved by the opposition Congress before the start of Monsoon session.
