Anil Pushpangadan, Gandhinagar: A police complaint has been filed against Radhanpur MLA Alpesh Thakor, Vadgam MLA Jignesh Mevani and Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) convener Hardik Patel and 17 others at Sector 21 Police Station in Gandhinagar late Friday night following a ‘Janata Raid’ conducted by the troika a couple of days ago after a suspected case of poisoning by spurious liquor had come up in Sola, Ahmedabad. The men have been accused of trespassing, producing fake evidence, creating a nuisance and misbehaving with women.

Alpesh, Jignesh, and Hardik along with their aides had raided the house of Kanchana Makwana opposite the DSP’s office at Sector 27 in the state capital. As the three leaders were rebuking the lady over the seizure of two pouches of locally brewed liquor, their aides had shot a video of the same. Makwana alleged that one of the men who accompanied the troika had actually tried to plant the pouches of alcohol in her house to claim their ‘janata raid’ was a success. But he was stopped from entering her house. The police have identified the youth as Pravin Bharwad belonging Hardik’s native Viramgam. He is currently being interrogated by the police.

Makwana filed a plaint against 20 people, including the three leaders for trespassing into her property, creating a ruckus at her house in presence of other people and misbehaving with her and other women at the spot. She claimed that the incident will leave a bad impact on her children’s mind. Police Inspector VN Yadav of Sector 21 Police Station had filed the complaint and charged the men under various relevant sections.
