MeraNews Network, Amritsar: Three people were killed and at least ten were injured after two unidentified men hurled a bomb inside a prayer hall in Amritsar, Punjab on Sunday. About 250 people were believed to be present inside the hall when the incident took place.

According to reports from eyewitnesses, two men on a motorcycle, with their faces covered entered the Nirankari Satsang Bhawan in Rajasansi village of Amritsar and hurled a grenade at the devotees before fleeing. This attack took place amidst the high alert over an intelligence input about Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists having entered the state through Ferozepur and might try to move to Delhi. Later, it came to light that Al-Qaeda commander Zakir Moosa too could be hiding in Punjab.

The Punjab Police is on high alert and has become watchful and vigilant. They are checking the CCTV footages looking to find clues to identify the attackers. The injured have been admitted to various hospitals of Amritsar. It is to be noted that a few days ago, four people had snatched an SUV at gunpoint near Madhopur area in Pathankot, which has not been traced so far.
