MeraNews Network, Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Crime Branch on Saturday arrested 3 persons belonging to a gang who have been involved in a spate of house break-ins and robberies across the state and outside since some time. The crime branch recovered cash and other articles worth Rs 19.52 lakhs were recovered from them. The arrested men confessed to eight such crimes, including murders.

Satpal Singh Chauhan, Parminder Tanwar and Somveer Singh Tanwar were arrested from the Ashram Road area near Motera by the Ahmedabad crime branch sleuths. They were involved in crimes at Sola in Ahmedabad, Vasariya, Selvas and Boisar in Vadodara, Pratapgarh in Jaipur and in Nasik.

As per the gang’s modus operandi, the gang would keep a watch on probable targets like flats and houses. One person would be sitting in a car parked right outside the flat or house, while another person kept a watch nearby as others would break in.

Satpal has previously spent 3 years in jail for murdering one Gajraj Gurjar in 2006. There have been 26 crimes in Ahmedabad, 4 in Jaipur and 1 in Bangalore registered against him and spent about 2 years in prisons for these crimes. He had recently got out of jail during Diwali.
