Anil Pushpangadan, Gandhinagar: After the Gujarat Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) unearthed huge sums of money being stashed away by the officials of Gujarat Land Development Board (GLDC), Gujarat state home minister Pradipsinh Jadeja had announced of hiring more officials in the ACB, but in reality, the post of Director has been lying vacant while the post of Additional Director is lying vacant for 2 years and no permanent posting has taken place.
After the in charge director PP Pandey retired in March last year, the responsibility of the ACB has been handed over to special director Keshav Kumar IPS. The in-charge additional director of ACB Shamsher Singh was to be transferred as the Ahmedabad Sector 2 joint commissioner, but because the then commissioner of police in Ahmedabad was Shivanand Jha, who is the current DGP Gujarat, he got to remain in the ACB and stopped his transfer.
But after the case of spurious liquor happened in Surat, Singh was transferred as Range IG of Surat. Thus the post of Additional Director ACB too is lying vacant along with that of Assistant director and PI. The government has currently handed over the responsibility of the director to special director Keshav Kumar and that of Additional Director and Vigilance squad to Hasmukh Patel.
